PeaceBridge Global is a Washington, DC-based non-profit organization with a global mission: to empower local communities to advance human rights, uphold democracy and the rule of law, and foster inclusive, peaceful societies in authoritarian or conflict-affected contexts.

Founded by veterans of the United States Institute of Peace (USIP), PeaceBridge Global leverages the expertise in policy and practice, knowledge, networks, and tested tools that USIP developed over decades, informed by lessons observed from peacebuilding and social justice efforts worldwide. PeaceBridge Global applies these lessons to new opportunities for peace in a world of increasing conflict and geopolitical tensions.

We work at the intersection of grassroots action and policy-level engagement, partnering directly with local activists and bridgebuilders, civil society organizations, and community leaders who are working under some of the most difficult conditions in the world. Rather than imposing external solutions, we start from the premise that lasting peace and democratic resilience are built from within. We believe our role is to strengthen the tools, networks, and strategic capacity that local actors already bring to that work.

Our approach draws on rigorous, field-tested methodologies, including nonviolent civil resistance, participatory action research, and inclusive dialogue processes, adapted to the specific political, cultural, and security realities of each context where we work. We combine this ground-level engagement with senior-level policy relationships , allowing us to connect local insight to the international decision-makers and institutions that shape the environments in which our partners operate.

In a moment of rising authoritarianism and geopolitical instability, PeaceBridge Global exists to ensure that the hard-won knowledge of peacebuilding practice doesn't stay locked in institutions, but reaches the people and movements who need it most.
